About 15,000 years ago, huge floods broke from gigantic ice dams in Montana and raced to the Pacific Ocean with flow rates ten times greater than all the rivers of the world today. Come, follow this photo journey and learn about these powerful floods and the way they shaped the landscape in much of the Pacific Northwest including the Columbia River Gorge, Portland, and the Willamette Valley.

Bob Setterberg is part of the Community Speakers Bureau, a group of dedicated volunteers from the Oregon Historical Society that give presentations about the history of Oregon. Their talks are interactive, educational, and always interesting.
